With fixed prices for small scale green energy generation on their way, UK residents are starting to show some serious interest in generating their own renewable electricity.
Green electricity company Good Energy is planning an event to help people get started with their own electricity projects.
The workshop ‘Power from the People: How to Generate Renewable Energy’ is aimed at a wide ranging audience from homeowners to farmers with the objective of helping to get small scale renewable energy projects up and running.
The event is planned for 31st October 2009 from 1.30pm to 8pm at Good Energy’s Delabole wind farm in North Cornwall. Good Energy’s renewable energy team will lead the workshops starting with a masterclass on microgeneration. This class will provide detailed information to people looking to produce energy on a domestic or small commercial scale, explaining how to plan and build their project and how to get paid for their energy.
At the event there is also opportunity to get inside one of the existing Delabole wind farm turbines and learn about the repowering project that is currently taking place. After the event there will be a reception for all to enjoy a glass of wine and a buffet of organic produce.
The event is to be held at The Gaia Centre, Delabole, North Cornwall on Saturday 31st October and tickets are on sale for £20. See the Good Energy website for further details.
